Zach was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia, where he began his hockey journey playing youth hockey with the Reston Raiders, followed by his high school career with the Lake Braddock Bruins. He later advanced to junior hockey, competing with the Virginia Statesmen and VA Express, gaining valuable experience at a higher level of play. Zach went on to compete in ACHA Division III hockey at Radford University, where he served as team captain and helped lead the program to three playoff appearances over four years. After his playing career, he transitioned into coaching and has been part of the STJ program since 2019, working with various age groups. Since 2021, he has served as a coach for the STJ 14U teams, continuing to develop young athletes through his experience and leadership.
