bio

As a Division I athlete, Steve developed a passion for sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and athlete development. He later served as the Major League Physical Therapist for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Senior Director of Health, Wellness, and Performance for the Washington Wizards. Today, he is the Site Director of Performance and Reconditioning, where he supports elite tactical athletes, including active-duty service members and veterans. Steve also serves as a coach with Arm Swing Academy, helping volleyball athletes improve their movement, performance, and arm-swing mechanics while reducing injury risk.

Steve is a licensed sports physical therapist, certified strength and conditioning coach, and nutrition specialist. Throughout his career, he has developed training programs for volleyball players of all ages, helping athletes improve their strength, speed, jumping ability, and overall movement on the court. This season, his goals are to foster teamwork, build well-rounded athletic skills, and create a positive, fun environment for every player.

In their first season coaching together, Lisa and Steve led the STJ 12 Navy team to three Gold Bracket finishes, including third place overall at the 24-team CHRVA Non-Bid Regional Championships and fifth place at the 26-team South Atlantic Championships.

Away from the court, Lisa and Steve enjoy traveling and spending time with their three children, all STJ Volleyball alumni: Logan, who competed at Johnson & Wales University from 2021 to 2023; Madison, a sophomore at Brown University; and Derek, a sophomore at Randolph College.
