Chris McGarity
bio
Originally from San Diego, California Chris McGarity began his volleyball journey with a high school graduation gift of a volleyball. McGarity began his pro beach career in 1994. Playing on the Association of Volleyball Professional (AVP) Tour for 7 years. Finished as the national runner up twice on the Bud Light pro beach tour.
Coach McGarity began his coaching career in 2005 in Va. Beach, Va with a high school boys team. He coached the team to three conference titles in a row and earned one Coach of the Year award. In 2022 Coach McGarity took over coaching duties at Yokohama International School in Yokohama Japan and was voted the volleyball commissioner of Japan America Sports Official Association (JASOA) where he officiated international volleyball matches.
Coach McGarity still plays beach volleyball and has won the Yokohama Beach Masters (45+) three times. He currently is the Annandale High School 9th grade/freshman girls coach.
