Chelsea Gorman is going into her fourth year coaching at STJ. She began coaching sports at a young age one of the biggest lessons she has focused on is the importance of adaptability. Every team is different, and what works for one group may not work for the next. Coach Chelsea believes successful coaching comes from understanding the unique strengths and needs of each team and adjusting her approach to help every athlete reach their full potential.
Her coaching philosophy is centered on building strong fundamentals, improving volleyball IQ, and developing the mental toughness needed to compete at a high level. The goal is to help athletes become confident, well-rounded players who are prepared to contribute to their team in any situation.
The most rewarding part of coaching is witnessing growth. Whether it’s a player building confidence, stepping into a leadership role, or developing new skills, Chelsea loves helping athletes discover what they’re capable of achieving. Watching a team evolve from a group of individuals into a confident, connected unit that trusts one another, competes together, and supports each other through challenges is why she coaches.
Chelsea looks forward to helping our players grow, compete, and develop a lasting love for the game. Outside of coaching, she continues to play both beach and indoor volleyball for fun.
