Rita McPheeters
bio
Rita McPheeters has been playing volleyball for over 30 years and coaching club volleyball for over 10 years. Her club teams have collected numerous medals over the years at various AAU and USAV tournaments. She is entering her fourth season coaching at The St. James.
Prior to coaching club volleyball, she coached for three years with a local youth league. In addition, she is currently in her fifth year as the JV head coach at an all-girls private high school in Virginia. She also conducts summer volleyball camps at the school.
During her many years of playing, she was on USAV adult club teams and, on women and co-ed league teams where she also served as a certified referee and scorekeeper. She also played in numerous outdoor doubles tournaments.
As you can see, volleyball is her passion. She also enjoys cycling, hiking, traveling, and staying active. She is retired from the Federal Government. She has two children who also played rec, club and college volleyball.
She is IMPACT and SafeSport certified. She has attended in-person coaching clinics and completed on-line coaching courses. She is excited to be coaching again at the St. James this season so she can continue to share her passion and knowledge of the game.
