bio
Christopher Stankiewicz is a USA Swimming–certified coach with a strong background in both competitive athletics and athlete development. He graduated from George Mason University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Politics, along with minors in International Security and Economics. Christopher has been coaching swimmers of all ages since 2014 and has held his USA Swimming coaching certification since 2018.
Christopher recently completed his first season as Head Coach of the Hunt Valley Swim Club, an NVSL Division II program in Springfield, Virginia. He also earned his Pool Operator Certification, further strengthening his expertise in aquatic facility operations and safety. His coaching experience includes working with athletes across multiple age groups, as well as serving as a private instructor and swim clinician.
As an athlete, Christopher competed for the George Mason University NCAA Division I Men’s Swim and Dive Team from 2016 to 2020. During his collegiate career, he earned Atlantic 10 Conference Athlete of the Week honors twice and was part of the men’s team that captured the program’s first-ever Atlantic 10 Conference Team Championship in 2020. He credits his time at George Mason for shaping his competitive mindset, teamwork skills, and lifelong friendships.
A product of the Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL) and Potomac Valley Swimming (PVS), Christopher is a self-described student of the sport with a deep passion for swimming. He is committed to using his experiences as both an athlete and coach to help swimmers grow, improve, and pursue their goals in and out of the pool.
