Coach Julian Bellamy is in their 10th season with The St. James Academy, where they oversee the horizontal jumps and hurdles events. Before joining the program, he has helped develop 1 national champion in the long Jump, 3 state champions in the Long Jump for Virginia, and 11 school records in the jumps and hurdles.
Before joining The St. James Academy, Coach Julian coached at Westfield High School and South County High School where he served as assistant in the horizontal jumps, sprints, relays and hurdles.
Under his guidance, athletes have achieved:
• 6 regional team titles and 4 team state titles at the 6A classification in Virginia
• Multiple District and Regional champions in the horizontal jumps, hurdles, sprints and relays
• Athletes consistently improving year-over-year in technical execution and competition results
Coach Julian brings a deep understanding of both performance development and athlete well-being. His coaching philosophy centers on technical mastery and mental resilience to help aid the development of student athletes.
