James Gould, known as “Coach G,” is a leader in youth sports development and performance programming and currently serves as the Manager of Girls Grassroots Basketball at The St. James, where he oversees female basketball initiatives for Potomac Valley Thunder and The St. James. He also serves as Director of Recruiting and Assistant Coach for the Girls Basketball Program at The St. James Performance Academy, focusing on elite player development and long-term athlete success. With over a decade of coaching experience, Coach G has worked across grassroots, high school, and nationally ranked programs, including helping lead Sidwell Friends School to multiple state and national championships and guiding its varsity softball team to back-to-back league titles. His background also includes leadership roles with Gatorade, Under Armour, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, where he drove community engagement and athlete development initiatives. Coach G holds a Master’s in Sport Leadership and is passionate about empowering young athletes and creating pathways to collegiate and professional success.
