Corey Hodnett Jr. is an Assistant Sprint Coach at The St. James Academy, where he’s quickly building a reputation for developing elite-level speed and championship culture. Known for his sharp eye for detail and data-driven approach, Coach Hodnett blends technical precision with modern sprint science to bring out the best in every athlete he coaches.
His athletes speak for themselves. Under his guidance, David Nnabuko has become one of the nation’s top high school sprinters — running 10.40 in the 100m and 20.70 in the 200m, earning New Balance Nationals All-American honors.
Cohren Corbin, another standout coached by Hodnett, shattered the Maryland 4A State Records in the 100m, 200m, and 300m, with personal bests of 11.51 and 23.50.
Coach Hodnett played a major role in helping lead his program to the 2025 Maryland 4A Indoor and Outdoor State Championships, cementing The St. James Academy’s name among the fastest programs in the region.
Grounded, hungry, and relentless in his pursuit of excellence, Hodnett is part of a new generation of sprint coaches redefining how speed is developed — proving that with structure, belief, and the right system, greatness isn’t found — it’s built.
